Recruiting Software Company Partners with Aviation Job Site
An innovative
recruiting software company is partnering with a successful aviation job board to make the recruiting process easier.
Aviation job board Avjobs recently announced its partnership with recruiting software company Avature CRM. Avature is a leading customer relationship management tool that uses a combination of social media and Web 2.0 tools to make recruiting easier.
The company's overall goal is to make the recruiting process easier by reducing the need for headhunters. Through the partnership, companies that use Avjobs will now be able to use Avature's services to sort through resumes more easily and find the most qualified candidates faster.
Avjobs is the leading job board for the aviation, airline, and airport industry. The company offers application software for companies, a large qualified base of job seekers, and employment information for job seekers and professionals.
Founded in 1988 in an effort to address the growing needs of aviation companies, Avjobs has grown to become the leading provider of recruiting software, job seekers, and employment information. The company currently has more than 8,000 partner companies in more than 200 countries throughout the world.
Avature was founded in 2004 by the same people who founded HotJobs.com two years earlier. The new company was created in an effort to provide highly-flexible talent management software that has a positive impact on networking and global service delivery.

Recruiting Software Company Integrates with Outlook
One
recruiting software company is making an effort to reduce effort and costs while increasing its quality of service to customers, candidates and employees.
The latest 2.0 release of Pointwing Front Office is doing so by offering a tighter integration with
Microsoft Outlook. Some of the new benefits to recruiters,
staffing coordinators and sales staff include:
- Users can initiate new e-mail from either Pointwing or Outlook and have that activity tracked within Pointwing. Inbound e-mails are instantly identified and recorded in the correct Pointwing Contact or Candidate record enabling the end user to efficiently manage and prioritize their daily communications, while insuring that their daily activity metrics are tracked.
- E-mail marketing campaigns can be sent using the comprehensive capabilities available within Outlook, while recording the activities within Pointwing for tracking and reporting.
- Pointwing users can find Pointwing Contacts and Candidates directly from within Outlook to compose their e-mail, appointment or task. For more information about a Contact or Candidate, they can jump to the associated Pointwing record from Outlook or create a new Pointwing record from Outlook if the record does not already exist.
- Outlook integration leverages the Pointwing resume parsing tool to enable the user to easily parse a resume attachment or parse directly from the body of the email.
- Pointwing also gives recruiters a quick way to move through records and complete Tasks for a record. This can be done from a single record or from a grid and can be performed without leaving the record. They can then go to the next record and continue.
The tighter integration between Pointwing recruiting and staffing software and MS Outlook also includes administrative and management capabilities that reduce the challenges often experienced in other recruiting packages with integrated e-mail.
For example, the Pointwing administrator can control whether to enable the auto add of e-mails and can omit certain e-mail addresses or Internet domains from being monitored. This auto-add feature may also be turned on or off at the user level.
Additionally, Pointwing offers better tracking of activities and a more efficient workflow that enables the recruiter to focus on using their best marketing options and the flexibility of managing their e-mails from Outlook or Pointwing leading to quicker user adoption and improved productivity.

Recruiting Software Provider Moves Newest Product from Beta Version
Recruiting software provider Avature recently announced in a press release that its newest addition to its line of products, Recruiting CRM, has moved from Beta and is now available to companies that desire to increase their
recruiting abilities through the use of social networking.
Recruiting CRM was built on Avature’s Web 2.0 framework. It utilizes several different advanced sales and contact management features in a way that benefit’s the
recruiting software marketplace.
The Beta version was released back in June of this year at the International Association for Human Resources Information Management conference. Then a particular Fortune 500 was given the product as part of a test run, in order to make sure CRM was ready to be released.
Recruiting CRM allows hiring managers the use of a program that does Internet spidering, e-mail threading, SMS communication, tagging and tag clouds, Boolean and Custom Operators and Live Search. It also offers a variety of other advanced Web 2.0 features.
The user interface has also been designed to be highly customizable. It comes with an optional OFCCP compliance module, multiple language configuration and intelligent parsing algorithms that enable the program to learn any language and adjust itself to international resume formats.
"Recruiters need to build, organize, and regularly communicate with a much larger network of people in order to respond faster to the talent needs of the enterprise. Current
recruiting and HR systems don't provide the functionality required to manage that type of process in a meaningful way," said Dimitri Boylan, who is the company‘s CEO. "At Avature we've harnessed recent Web 2.0 technologies to create a completely different user experience for the busy recruiter or sourcing professional. Blistering speed, less data entry, the ability to organize candidates the way you want to, tools to efficiently and regularly communicate with prospects, and real time dashboards are the keys to high productivity for recruiters and managers. One button resume upload from the Internet, online spreadsheet views of data, and dynamic talent pipelines let recruiters get 'in the zone,' and stay there."

New ATS tool: Catch the Best
Here's a new low cost
ATS tool that is targeting small businesses. According to their founder, Benjamin Curtis;
Catch the Best is a collaborative applicant tracking system (ATS) built just for small businesses. Basically, that means it gives you a place to track your job postings and the applicants for your open positions, but without all the extra junk (and extra cost!) that you get from the guys trying to sell you an "enterprise-class" product.

Battle of the job posting products
SmartPost, the product from Bernard Hodes which lets employers post a job once to multiple job boards is adding some new sites to its roster including Indeed.com, Job.com and Oodle. But lookout, here comes
Jobtarget with its
OneClick product. At this time
SmartPost appears to have more integration with
ATS vendors while OneClick has hundreds of
niche & association job boards on its roster.
I went to the
SmartPost site to see what job boards they have but alas, they
dont list them. They just claim its the "largest media network". It would be nice if they list all of the sites they use. I give props to Jobtarget because they list every site you can post to.
Jobtarget will have some announcements at the
upcoming SHRM convention and I'll be doing a podcast with one of their reps to get their take on this new job posting product.

Jobs in Pods: How it works
The real value of
podcasting your jobs is the way we maximize their exposure across the internet.
a) Podcast Sites & MP3 Players: a number of podcast directories exist which let users promote their audio. We have setup distribution channels with over two dozen of them. This is how many passive candidates will find them. In addition, MP3 players like Apple’s
iPOD are proliferating. Users of these portable devices will be able to download them directly from
iTunes.
b) RSS /XML Feeds: RSS (Really Simple Syndication) and XML feeds allow internet users to take our “feed” of podcasts and add them to their “feed reader” or add them to their own web sites for listening. This puts the power of listening in their control. They won’t have to come to JobsinPods.com, rather they can listen to your podcast right from their feed reader.
c) Blog & Technorati tags: Jobs in Pods is not just a web site. It’s a blog and it comes with built in advantages for attracting search engine traffic. Each of your podcasts will be posted to this blog, categorized and tagged. The search engines will pick up on these tags and drive traffic to it. For example, a post entitled “
Sales Jobs with XYZ Company in White Plains, NY“, will aid in attracting people typing in the words “
sales jobs ny” in a search engine.
Using the blog search engine Technorati we’ll also “tag” each podcast with the keywords from our interview. If you are looking for marketing people, we’ll add tags that say “marketing jobs” and “marketing manager”.
d) Your Site: Working with your webmaster, we can setup a feed of just your podcasts that you can simultaneously broadcast on the career section of your corporate web site. Wouldn’t it be great if potential canidates could hear you speak about the jobs on your site?
