Dallas hospitality jobs (

During August, Texas's unemployment rate increased slightly from 8.4 percent to 8.5 percent, which is still below the national average of 9.1 percent. The
Dallas area had an unemployment rate of 8.7 percent during July.
The Dallas-Plano-Irving area employed 2,055,700 workers during August, which is down from 2,062,000 workers during July, but a 1.7 percent increase from last year, according to the
U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The leisure and hospitality industry - which had been
growing over the year in recent months - saw no over-the-year movement and lost workers on a monthly basis. The industry employed a total of 194,100 workers, down from 197,700 workers during July and unchanged from last year.

During June, the unemployment rate in Texas rose to 8.2 percent after holding steady at 8 percent for the previous two months. Despite the increase, the state's rate is still lower than the national average of 9.2 percent. The
Dallas area had an unemployment rate of 7.9 percent during May.
According to the
Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Dallas-Plano-Irving area employed a total of 2,075,400 workers during June, which is up from 2,070,600 workers during May and a 2.4 percent increase from last year.
