The recent opening of a new
Walmart at the
Northline Commons shopping center in North Houston not only marks the beginning of the holiday shopping season, but more importantly creates hundreds of new jobs for local residents.
"We are grateful for the opportunities that Walmart brings to the Northside neighborhood of Houston,"
Congressman Gene Green said. "Walmart brings us a beautiful new shopping opportunity, over 400 new jobs, new tax revenues, and unparalleled corporate generosity in the local community. We welcome Walmart as a win/win for both the shoppers and for our Northside community."
Other stores and restaurants at the shopping center - many of which are
hiring for the holiday season - include:
- Marshall
- Ross Dress For Less
- Office Depot
- Conn's
- The Children's Place
- Verizon

Northline Commons has undergone a transformation during the last three years in an effort to provide a more shopper-friendly and convenient retail space. Some of those renovations include easier parking, easier shopping, improved safety, and an improved landscape.
"Our shoppers are busy families,"
Jeff Procell, general manager of Northline Commons, said. "They know that they can come to Northline Commons and save time and money here. They can do their shopping and errands quickly in a safe and pleasant environment, and then relax and enjoy a meal in one of our restaurants."
