Sales Careers Texas with Allstate

A popular insurance company is increasing the number of sales careers Texas has available.

Allstate recently announced its plans to hire more than 150 employees throughout Texas by the end of the year. The majority of those jobs will be for licensed sales producers, who play an important role in driving business growth across the state.

Candidates for sales employment opportunities (http://jobs.cityfurniture.com) with Allstate should have a high school diploma, exceptional selling skills, and the ability to obtain a Property and Casualty license after they have been hired.

So far, Allstate has hired about 20 licensed sales producers throughout Texas. The company expects to hire a total of 155 employees in Amarillo, Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Lubbock, Midland, Odessa, Rio Grande Valley, and San Antonio.

Allstate has enlisted the help of Kelly Services, a staffing agency, to find these new employees. Kelly Services has been working with the Texas Workforce Commission and other agencies to find eligible applicants who then begin a pre-screening process and are placed in a database available to owners of Allstate agencies.

"These positions present such a great opportunity for talented people with strong communication and customer service skills, who may not have a college degree," Gary Halls, director of operations with the Office of Allstate for Kelly Services. "We encourage interested candidates to not let the licensing process scare them off. We emphasize it's a valuable commitment to make to get a head start in a recession-proof industry."

How to Get Arizona Pharmacy Jobs

Have you ever considered applying for Arizona pharmacy jobs?

Pharmacists are mainly responsible for distributing prescription drugs to people. This is done by advising patients and healthcare professionals on the selection, dosages, interactions, and side effects of various medications.

Those who work in community settings such as a retail or drug store may dispense medications, counsel patients on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications, and advise patients. Those in healthcare facilities may dispense medications and advise medical staff.

Some pharmacists choose to specialize in a specific drug therapy area, such as intravenous nutrition support, oncology, nuclear pharmacy, geriatric pharmacy, and psychiatric pharmacy.

Other pharmacists may perform research for pharmaceutical companies working to develop new drugs; work in marketing or sales; work for health insurance companies; work for the government; or work at a college.

Anyone interested in becoming a pharmacist should take at least two years of specific professional study and then obtain their Pharm.D. degree from an accredited college or school of pharmacy. The Pharm.D. degree usually takes four years to complete and many students go on to complete a one or two-year residency.

All states require candidates to pass the North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam, and some require you to pass the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam, both of which are administered by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy. Many states also require pharmacists to undergo a criminal check (Click here).

There were about 269,900 pharmacists throughout the nation during 2008, and that number is expected to grow by 17 percent by 2018, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

About 65 percent of employees work in retail settings and about 22 percent work in hospitals. The remainder work in mail-order and Internet pharmacies, pharmaceutical wholesalers, offices of physicians, and the federal government.

Employment of pharmacists throughout Arizona is expected to increase by 1,892 jobs, or 43.9 percent, to 6,206 jobs by 2016, according to the Arizona Workforce Informer.

Jobs Fort Lauderdale to Increase During Holidays

The holiday season should increase the number of jobs Fort Lauderdale has to offer. Visit http://broward.jobing.com for more information.

The Florida Retail Federation is predicting that the state will see a 3 percent to 4 percent increase in retail sales this holiday season when compared to last year. The nation as a whole is expected to see an increase of 2.3 percent.

"Consumers are showing that they're tired of being totally frugal, and that they plan on being a little more generous this year," Rick McAllister, president and CEO of the Florida Retail Federation, said in a press release. "I believe both consumers and retailers can look forward to a rewarding holiday season."

One of the reasons that sales are expected to increase is because consumer confidence is increasing. A recent study from the University of Florida found that consumer confidence is currently the highest it's been in six months.

And retailers are planning to hire more seasonal workers to keep up with the expected increase in spending. The Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation notes that 30,000 to 40,000 seasonal workers were hired during 2008 and 2009, and that number is expected to be even higher this year.

"Throughout the recession, the retail industry has been one of the brightest spots in the hiring slump," McAllister said. "Retailers provide one out of every five jobs in Florida. Just like Santa needs his elves, retailers need extra 'elves' to spread the holiday spirit. They'll be hard at work helping consumers find the perfect gifts this holiday season."
